Slightly feeling out of touch with my priorities in the past few weeks, I was disconnected. This morning I woke up revitalised, energised and finally once again, purposeful. Maybe I am tapped into the energy of the upcoming weekend frenzy, whatever it is – I welcomed this change.
When we are so often focused on our goals, tasks and to-do lists, or perhaps in some cases the complete lack thereof, we fail to notice what is happening in this moment, right now. Whilst we are busy chasing the distant rainbow, the most awe-inspiring scenery has already come to pass.
For Ralph Waldo Emerson said,
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Life is a journey, not a destination.
It is the journey, and not always the destination that matters. Therefore on this day, I want to acknowledge all the hard work that I have accomplished in order to be where I am now. I want to appreciate in me: the beauty in the flaws, and the perfection in the imperfection. As no one else can be a greater cheerleader for me than myself.
At this moment, I stop, breathe and give myself a pat on the back for a job well done. I salute myself for saying YES to what makes me grow, and for saying NO to what no longer serves. I salute myself for being on this journey called Life. And I salute you for being my constant loving companions.
